Cavallotto

Italy

Cavallotto is a fourth-generation family estate in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of Barolo, where the family has farmed Bricco Boschis since 1928. Alfio, Giuseppe, and Laura Cavallotto lead the estate, with Alfio and Giuseppe also serving as enologists, and all wines are made from the family’s own vineyards. Long focused on Nebbiolo and Barolo, Cavallotto is known for organic viticulture and a deeply hands-on, low-intervention approach: indigenous yeasts, limited sulfites, spontaneous cover cropping, and extensive manual vineyard work. The family was an early advocate of sustainable farming in the area, moving away from chemical agriculture decades ago and continually refining natural methods. Their wines reflect the character of the Bricco Boschis and Vignolo crus, combining site specificity, tradition, and careful stewardship of the land.
