Blank Canvas Wines is a family-owned Marlborough producer based in Blenheim, founded by Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson. The winery focuses on small-batch, single-vineyard wines from Marlborough as well as sites in Central Otago and Hawke’s Bay, with an emphasis on terroir and site-specific expression. Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson make the wines using minimal intervention methods such as natural or wild fermentation, hand-plunging, and, for many wines, bottling unfined and unfiltered. Blank Canvas works closely with dedicated growers across New Zealand and draws on sustainably managed vineyards, including SWNZ-certified sites, with some wines also carrying AMW and BioGro organic certification.
