Weingut Schmitt is a family-owned estate in Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Rheinhessen, with more than two centuries of history, now run by Bianka and Daniel Schmitt. The vineyards are certified organic and Demeter biodynamic, with hand-harvested fruit and a strong focus on vineyard vitality and site expression. In the cellar, they follow a minimal-intervention approach, using spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and avoiding fining, filtration, and added sulphur. Aging includes amphorae, used oak barrels, and fiberglass tanks, with an emphasis on low yields and terroir-driven wines. Their range also reflects an open-minded mix of local and Hungarian varieties.
