ARPEPE

Italy

ArPePe is a family-owned Valtellina estate in Lombardy, revived in 1984 by Arturo Pelizzatti-Perego and now run by fifth-generation siblings Isabella, Emanuele and Guido Pelizzatti-Perego. Its vineyards lie on steep hand-worked terraces between the Orobic and Retic Alps, just south of the Italian-Swiss border, at 300–600 metres altitude. Farming is sustainable in practice, with grass cover between rows, limited mechanisation and a low-impact, zero-environmental-impact cellar, though no formal certification is cited. The estate focuses on Nebbiolo and follows a low-intervention approach, using native yeasts and minimal cellar handling.
