Willi Haag is a family-owned Mosel estate in Brauneberg, in the Haag family for more than 500 years and now run by Marcus Haag, the founder’s grandson. The vineyards are almost entirely steep slopes, with Riesling planted on weathered slate soils, including the south-facing Brauneberger Juffer and Juffer-Sonnenuhr sites. The wines are described as mineral and elegant, with a significant proportion made naturally sweet alongside dry and off-dry styles. The estate is a founding VDP member and combines traditional family stewardship with modern viticulture. Sustainability is central, reflected in FAIR’N GREEN certification, yield-reduced cultivation, environmentally focused steep-slope management, and support for seasonal workers through on-site accommodation.
