La Famille K

France

La Famille K is a family-owned estate in Morancé, in Beaujolais’ Pays des Pierres Dorées, managed by Marianne, Benoît and their daughters. The vineyards lie on clay-limestone and clay-silt soils and are farmed without pesticides, with the estate converting to organic farming and certified by Terra Vitis. Hand-picked grapes are made into unpretentious, high-quality wines using minimal intervention, low sulfite additions and vegan-friendly practices. Benoît Merchier leads the winemaking, with advice from former winemaker Georges. The cellar uses low-carbon techniques including pneumatic pressing, gravity flow, temperature control and water-saving measures. The family’s aim is to restore Beaujolais’s reputation while keeping its wines affordable.
