Producer

Justin Dutraive

France

Justin Dutraive makes an extremely small, independent Beaujolais production from a few rows of 70-year-old Gamay vines on a steep granite hillside owned by his mother. The vines are cultivated organically, and Justin serves as the sole winemaker for his label, separate from his father Jean-Louis Dutraive’s Domaine de la Grand’Cour. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented by carbonic maceration and given a short period in barrel. The wine is released unfined and unfiltered, expressing a low-intervention approach to this distinctive small parcel.
