Josef Fritz is a family-run winery in Zaußenberg, Wagram, where Irene and Josef Fritz have led the estate since 2003. Its 17 hectares of historic vineyards lie on loess, sandstone and tertiary gravel, with a signature focus on Roter Veltliner. The winery is certified organic, and its grapes are hand-picked. Historic cellars include a reserve program holding mature wines from the 2016 vintage onward. The estate also operates Himmelreich, a 300-year-old farmhouse restaurant awarded a Michelin star in 2026. Rather than pursuing growth, Josef Fritz emphasizes the highest quality.
