Fratelli Ponte

Italy

Fratelli Ponte is a family-run estate in San Damiano d’Asti, Piedmont, founded by Carlo Ponte after WWII and now led by the third generation: brothers Massimo, Ivan, and Renato. The family oversees the work directly, from vineyard care through vinification and bottling, with harvest carried out by hand and grape selection done manually. The estate is listed as practicing sustainable farming, and its wines follow DOC/DOCG rules that prohibit irrigation and restrict yields. Winemaking is led by Ivan Ponte, with cellar work handled by Ivan and Renato using temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and oak for aging. The range centers on Piedmont varieties including Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Brachetto, and Roero Arneis.
