Domaine de la Solitude is a historic family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, rooted in one of the area’s oldest families, with origins dating to the 15th century and today led by Florent Lançon of the eighth generation. Its vineyards lie around La Crau and the Vallon de la Solitude, on a mosaic of safres, limestone, clay and rounded stones typical of the southern Rhône. Farming is certified organic and biodynamic, with most vineyard work done by hand and a strong focus on biodiversity through olive and fruit trees, beehives and pastoralism. The domaine grows all thirteen traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape varieties and emphasizes massal selection to preserve its plant material. The wines are shaped by a long family tradition and a philosophy of letting vineyard and terroir speak without artifice.
