Clos de Tart is a singular Grand Cru monopole in Morey-Saint-Denis, at the heart of Burgundy, with an unbroken history stretching back to 1141. Founded by Cistercian nuns and remarkably never divided, the estate has had only four owners, most recently Artémis Domaines of the Pinault family since 2018. Its walled Pinot Noir vineyard is farmed with organic and biodynamic methods, avoiding pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers, and relying on sulfur, copper, ploughing, and manual work. Winemaking has been guided by Jacques Devauges alongside long-time vineyard steward Sylvain Pitiot, with a focus on precision and finesse from this exceptional, historic terroir.
