Cellier des Princes

France

Founded in 1925, Cellier des Princes is the sole cooperative winery in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, owned by approximately 240 member growers. Its vineyards span the appellation’s characteristic rolled-pebble, sandy, and clay-limestone soils, as well as sites across the wider southern Rhône, producing Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and other wines. Grenache dominates its blends, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre, with manual harvesting almost systematic in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Oenologist Philippe Cambie and winemaker Thierry Ferlay lead the winemaking. The cooperative combines long-standing regional traditions with ongoing quality improvements and sustainability measures, including the Rendez-Vous Terroir charter, recyclable packaging, efficient water use, and solar panels.
