Casa Santos Lima

Portugal

Casa Santos Lima is a multi-generational family winery in Lisboa, founded by Joaquim Santos Lima in the late 19th century and relaunched in 1990 by José Luís Santos Lima Oliveira da Silva. Today it is led by Maria João Santos Lima and José Luís Santos Lima Oliveira da Silva, producing wines from vineyards across Lisboa, Algarve, Alentejo, Douro, Vinho Verde, Dão and the Azores. In Lisboa, its Alenquer vineyards lie on clay-limestone soils under Atlantic influence; elsewhere, the estate works with shale, granite and volcanic soils. The winery combines replanting and improved agricultural techniques with modern production facilities, and has achieved the highest level of Portugal’s national wine-sector sustainability framework. Its broad range includes red, white, rosé, sparkling, lightly sparkling, light and late-harvest wines, with around 90% of production exported.
