Italy

Pruneto is a small, family-run estate in Radda in Chianti, Tuscany, founded by Giuseppe Lanza in the late 1960s and now managed by his son Riccardo and grandson Massimilliano. Its vineyards, planted on the south- and southwest-facing slopes at 400–500 metres, are certified organic and worked entirely by hand, with total grass cover, no synthetic treatments and minimal soil disturbance. Sangiovese predominates, alongside Merlot, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentations take place in cement and steel, followed by aging in large oak barrels. The wines are made with minimal intervention, modest sulphur, and no filtration or clarification, expressing the estate’s traditional, low-intervention approach to Chianti Classico.
