Domaine de Bel-Air

France

Domaine de Bel-Air is a family-run Beaujolais estate in the Ardères Valley overlooking Beaujeu, with nearly 170 years of history. Winemaker Jean-Marc Lafont and his wife Annick have owned and operated the domaine since the mid-1980s. Its steep vineyards are worked almost entirely by hand, with vines averaging around 50 years old. Since 1992, the estate has used integrated, eco-friendly farming focused on biological monitoring and disease prevention. Wines are made in individual low-capacity vats using temperature-controlled fermentation, traditional semi-carbonic maceration and oak vats for malolactic fermentation, expressing the terroirs of Beaujolais-Villages, Beaujolais Blanc, Morgon and Brouilly.
