Podere il Saliceto

Italy

Podere il Saliceto is a family-run estate in Campogalliano, on the outskirts of Modena in Emilia-Romagna, founded in 2005 by Gian Paolo Isabella and his brother-in-law Marcello, who still co-own and run it. Set on sandy alluvial soils along the Secchia River in the traditional Lambrusco zone, the estate focuses on organic farming and hands-on vineyard work, with grapes harvested by hand. Gian Paolo oversees both vineyard and cellar, following a gentle, low-intervention approach: natural fermentations, minimal sulfur, and no fining or filtration. The wines center on Lambrusco di Sorbara and Lambrusco Salamino, alongside local varieties such as Trebbiano Modenese and Malbo Gentile, with a clear emphasis on preserving regional typicity.
