Founded in Montilla in 1905 by three brothers, Pérez Barquero is now owned by the Córdoba, Ruz and Gracia families, who assumed the legacy in 1985. Working in the Montilla-Moriles appellation, its vineyards lie on the albariza hills around Sierra de Montilla and Moriles Alto. The house combines respect for the vineyard with experienced oenology and ongoing innovation, producing young wines, traditional generous and sweet wines, brandies and vinegars. Fermentation uses temperature-controlled stainless steel and traditional jars, while finos and amontillados undergo biological ageing under flor; other wines and spirits follow the criaderas and solera system. Sustainability is central to its integrated management approach, supported by SWfCP and ISO 14001 certification, solar power and a stated goal of zero carbon emissions.
