Tenuta Luce

Italy

Tenuta Luce is a 249-hectare estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, with 88 hectares of vineyards. Founded in 1995 as a joint venture between the Frescobaldi family and Robert Mondavi, it has been fully owned and led by Lamberto Frescobaldi since 2004. Producing about 130,000 bottles annually, it is not a small-scale operation. The philosophy emphasizes being respectful 'guests of the earth,' with organic-inspired practices focused on biodiversity and planting according to each parcel's vocation. Winemaking utilizes wild yeasts, concrete vats, and French oak for its Sangiovese-Merlot blends. While it demonstrates a thoughtful approach to viticulture, its size and output place it in the realm of a significant, well-established estate rather than a small artisan producer.
