Jable de Tao is a young, family-linked project in Tao, Lanzarote, founded with the 2022 vintage as part of a generational handover of the family’s agricultural and winemaking activities. Working under D.O. Lanzarote, it farms its own vineyards and collaborates with local growers, including old vines aged 50 to 200 years on jable, volcanic, sedimentary and mixed soils. The project emphasizes landscape conservation and wines that express Lanzarote’s geology, traditions and individual sites. Malvasía, Listán Blanco, Diego and Listán Negro are made using foudres, concrete, stainless steel, 500-litre barrels, clay jars and ceramic vessels. The style generally favors low alcohol, freshness and clear soil character.
