Demarie is a three-generation, family-run estate in Vezza d’Alba, in Piedmont’s Roero, managed by brothers Aldo and Paolo Demarie with Paolo’s wife Monica. The family cultivates its own vineyards on the sunny, sandy, fossil-rich hills of Vezza, Castagnito, Castellinaldo and Guarene, focusing on native varieties including Nebbiolo, Barbera and Arneis. Farming follows organic and integrated practices, with attention to biodiversity, sustainability and careful manual selection. The winery, inaugurated in 2013, was designed around environmental compatibility, incorporating photovoltaic power, A+ energy efficiency, biomass heating and water filtration. Winemaking is rooted in classic local traditions—gentle pressing, controlled fermentation and selected wood aging—while allowing room for experimentation, including pét-nat. The wines express Roero’s distinctive soils and native grapes with an emphasis on natural character and aromatic integrity.
