Conceito Vinhos is a family-owned estate in the Douro’s Vale da Teja, run by the Ferreira family, whose roots in the area go back to the 1940s. Although the family began bottling its own wines in 2005, the project is grounded in a longer family history and remains family operated. The vineyards are planted across five sites at higher elevations, and all farming is organic, with no pesticides or herbicides. Winemaking is led by Rita Ferreira Marques, whose international experience informs a minimal-intervention approach focused on expressing the estate’s Douro fruit and sites.
