Château Montlabert is a family-run Saint-Émilion estate owned by the Castel group since 2008, with wine heritage dating to 1750. Classified as a Grand Cru Classé, it lies on the northwest slope of the Saint-Émilion hill and works distinct sandy, blue-clay and clay-limestone terroirs, planted mainly to Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Since 2011, the vineyard has followed an agro-ecological, living-soil approach with cover crops, reasoned yields and Terra Vitis (HEV) certification. Its modern, bioclimatic winery is designed for precise, terroir-focused vinification, followed by barrel ageing. Estate manager and cellar master Ludovic Hérault works with consulting winemaker Hubert de Boüard, combining detailed parcel management with technological innovation and environmental care.
