Castell d’Encus

Spain

Founded in 2001 by winemaker Raül Bobet, Castell d’Encus is a boutique, family-owned estate in Talarn, Catalonia, within the DOP Costers del Segre. Its vineyards lie at high elevation in the Pallars Jussà Pyrenees, where distinctive soils and geography shape the wines. The estate follows organic-style practices, avoiding herbicides, insecticides and fungicides except those permitted in organic viticulture, and uses low-yield rootstocks and clones. A gravity-fed winery and geothermal heat-exchange system reflect Bobet’s blend of science, efficiency and respect for place. The portfolio spans Syrah, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc–Semillon, Bordeaux blends, Pinot Noir and the ancestral sparkling wine Taïka.
