Producer

Bertani

Italy

Bertani is a historic family-owned producer rooted in Valpolicella, with origins dating to 1857 and a renewed chapter begun in 2012 by Gaetano Bertani and his sons Giovanni and Guglielmo as Agricola Gaetano Bertani e Figli. Based in Veneto, it works estate vineyards across Valpolicella, Val d’Illasi and Val Grezzana, with Giovanni Bertani leading winemaking alongside Guglielmo and consultant Franco Bernabei. The estate emphasizes respect for origins, biodiversity and non-invasive ecological practices, though no formal sustainability certification is noted. Its style is defined by tradition balanced with research and restraint, aiming for authenticity, elegance and clear terroir expression, especially in Valpolicella and Amarone, where slow fermentation, natural drying and long aging underline a fresh, savory and timeless character.
