Producer

Berlucchi

Italy

Berlucchi is a historic, family-owned Franciacorta producer founded in the mid-1950s (officially 1961) by Guido Berlucchi, Franco Ziliani, and Giorgio Lanciani. It is credited with creating the first Franciacorta in 1961. The estate is now managed by the founders' descendants, the Ziliani siblings. With extensive vineyards (over 500 hectares) and an annual production of about 4.5 million bottles, it is a leading regional winery. Berlucchi emphasizes sustainable viticulture, using organic and integrated practices, and has a strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility, though it holds no formal sustainability certifications. Its winemaking focuses on the traditional method, with hand-harvesting, gentle pressing, and reduced sulfite use.
