Sophenia is a family-owned estate winery in Gualtallary, Tupungato, Mendoza, founded in 1997 by Roberto Luka and a friend, with commercial production beginning in 2003. Roberto now leads the winery with his daughter Eugenia, representing the second generation. Its vineyards lie at 1,000–1,300 metres in a high-altitude Andean climate, with stony soils. Eugenia has implemented a certified sustainable-practices program aimed at reducing environmental impact and supporting local community development. Winemaking is led by Julia Halupczok.
