Pilcrow is a family-owned Napa Valley winery founded in 2014 by Sara and Jonah Beer, whose work is rooted in the Cabernet Sauvignon traditions of 1950s–70s Napa. The couple farms and sources fruit from distinct mountain sites, including Ghost Block, Granite Lake, and Archer & Byrd, using organically farmed, no-till and regenerative practices; some vineyards include overwintering cattle and wildlife corridors. Their traditional, analog approach emphasizes site expression, with bright acidity, savory character, lower alcohol, restrained oak, no residual sugar, and long aging potential. Extended maceration, micro-oxygenation, heavy oak, and other techniques they feel can obscure terroir are avoided. The wines are intended as balanced, food-friendly expressions of individual Napa Valley vineyards.
