J. Wilkes is a boutique, small-lot California brand based in Santa Maria and owned by the Miller Family Wine Company, which acquired it in 2010 to honor founder Jeff Wilkes’ legacy. The wines draw primarily on the Miller-owned Bien Nacido and Solomon Hills vineyards, alongside fruit from other Central Coast growers. Sourcing spans Santa Maria Valley, Sta. Rita Hills, Paso Robles Highlands District, and Happy Canyon, with a focus on traditional California varieties and rarer selections. The portfolio includes cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as other regional wines across several collections. Winemaking has included Wes Hagen, Jonathan Nagy, and Vidal Perez; Nagy joined in 2020. No specific sustainability practices or certifications are documented.
