Folktale Winery & Vineyard

United States

Folktale Winery & Vineyards is a Monterey County producer in Carmel, California, acquired and renamed by winemaker Gregory Ahn in 2015. Operated by Folktale Group LLC through a collaborative model involving artists, craftspeople, and wine enthusiasts, it farms vineyards across the Arroyo Seco AVA and maintains a hand-tended, organically farmed estate block. Sustainability is central, with cover crops, dry farming, resident beehives, owl boxes, and raptor perches used for natural pest control; no formal certifications are listed. The winery sources from multiple Monterey County vineyards and focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, alongside Rhône varieties and more experimental wines. Its style emphasizes vibrant acidity and minerality, with practices including native fermentation, whole-cluster Pinot Noir, micro-lot blending, and wines made without additions.
