d'Arenberg is a family-owned winery in McLaren Vale, South Australia, run by the Osborn family. Founded in 1912, it remains under family ownership, with fourth-generation vigneron and chief winemaker Chester Osborn leading production. The estate works with family-owned, estate-owned and leased vineyards, including old vines, and follows certified organic and biodynamic farming, with biodynamic certification from 2015 and NASAA organic and biodynamic certification noted from 2016. The winery stopped using fertilizer in 1997, underscoring a long-standing sustainability focus. Traditional methods, including historic basket presses, remain part of the winemaking approach, and the wines are also noted as vegan-friendly.
