Bois de Boursan

Domaine Bois de Boursan is a family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, founded by Jean Versino in the 1950s and later developed with his son Jean-Paul; today Jean-Paul Versino and Shawnn Versino run the domaine. Working across varied parcels and soils in the appellation, they farm old vines averaging over 50 years and use all 13 permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape varieties. The estate avoids synthetic phytosanitary products, pesticides, and anti-botrytis, relying on sun, mistral, plowing, and hand harvesting with sorting. Winemaking follows a traditional approach: no destemming, fermentation in cement, élevage for 18 months in large oak and other woods, and bottling without filtration for natural, characterful wines.
