Bodegas Piqueras is a family-owned winery in Almansa, Castilla-La Mancha, founded in 1915 and now in its fourth generation. Working with estate vineyards in the D.O. Almansa, the family focuses on native varieties such as Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell, alongside other grapes adapted to the local climate. Their vineyards are farmed organically on high-altitude, low-rainfall, limestone-rich soils, with a broader biodiversity approach that includes olive trees, almonds, cereals and an organic sheep farm. Historic parcels such as Los Losares preserve very old ungrafted vines. Piqueras combines long family continuity with a modern sustainability focus, including renewable energy, ISO 14001 certification, and efforts to reduce inputs, while aiming for wines that express Almansa with honesty and balance.
