Producer

Bodega Volver

Spain

Family-owned Bodegas Volver was founded in 2004 by fourth-generation winemaker Rafael (Rafa) Cañizares, who remains closely involved in the winemaking. Based in Pinoso, Alicante, the estate’s Finca Los Juncares vineyard in La Mancha was planted in 1957 on poor, sandy limestone soils at 660–700 metres. Its dry-farmed vines are cultivated and harvested by hand, with low yields and traditional, low-intervention practices. The winery also works across Alicante, Jumilla and Valencia, producing modern-style wines from native varieties including Monastrell, Tempranillo, Merseguera, Macabeo and Moscatel. Sustainability is central to its approach, including organic production, renewable energy, water purification and responsible carbon-footprint management.
