Abraham is a small family-run winery led by Marlies and Martin Abraham in Appiano, South Tyrol, where Alpine and Mediterranean influences meet. Their vineyards lie between 450 and 600 metres, across varied dolomite, limestone, clay, moraine and volcanic soils, including historic and single-vineyard sites. The family emphasizes sustainable viticulture, using organic plant protection, green manure and careful handiwork. Their approach is rooted in ancestral knowledge and a close relationship with nature, balancing intervention with letting natural processes unfold. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentation, long lees ageing in large wooden barrels and tonneaux, whole-bunch and skin-contact work, and minimal handling produce puristic, elegant and age-worthy wines without fining agents or flavor enhancers. Abraham is particularly committed to Pinot Noir and Burgundy varieties, seeking wines with vividness, elegance and a clear sense of origin.
