Waits-Mast is a family-owned boutique winery founded in 2005 by Jennifer Waits and Brian Mast in San Francisco. The producer makes limited lots of single-vineyard Pinot Noir from small, independent family vineyards across Anderson Valley, Mendocino County, and Mendocino Ridge, exploring the influence of fog, ocean, mountains, forests, and hillside sites. Winemaking is led by Shalini Sekhar, who has worked with the label since the 2013 vintage. Vineyard sources include organically farmed Wentzel and Deer Meadows vineyards, dry-farmed Mariah Vineyards, and Nash Mill Vineyard, which uses Fish Friendly practices. Wines are produced at the Mansfield-Dunne facility and emphasize the diversity of cool-climate Mendocino Pinot Noir.
