Villa Trasqua

Italy

Villa Trasqua is a historic, family-owned estate in Castellina in Chianti, with roots dating to 1001 and a strong focus on Sangiovese and Chianti Classico. The Hulsbergen family has owned and run the property since 2001, working with Sangiovese specialist Franco Bernabei. Since 2014, the estate has been 100% certified organic, treating the vineyards as a complex ecosystem through biodiversity, ducks and geese for weed control, mass-selected clones and indigenous yeasts. Its vineyards are divided into 13 parcels according to their distinct soils and microclimates, with Nerento vinified as a single vineyard. The wines reflect a classico-driven philosophy centred on harmony with nature, the seasons and the expressive Castellina terroir.
