Producer

Skaap Wines

South Africa

Skaap is a family-owned and operated producer on the Schapenberg Wine Route in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The Dutch Schaap family makes hand-crafted wines intended to express their origin, with a hands-on approach that keeps selected parcels separate and guides rather than heavily manipulates the wine. Its dry-farmed vineyards are managed with natural products and individual vine attention, while the estate participates in the WWF Biodiversity in Wine Initiative and has created a conservation corridor through fynbos habitat. Skaap donates 5% of revenue to Children’s Foodure, supporting children in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village, and features local township artists on its labels, promoting their work through the vineyard guest house.
