Petra is a family-run estate founded in 1997 by Vittorio and Francesca Moretti in Suvereto, Tuscany’s Val di Cornia, and now part of the Terra Moretti Group. Its vineyards are organically farmed, with a strong focus on sustainability, biodiversity and low-intervention practices; the estate is also implementing the Equalitas sustainability standard. Designed by Mario Botta, the winery uses gravity-flow winemaking to reduce mechanical impact, while a floating photovoltaic system provides renewable energy. Francesca Moretti directs the winemaking, with Giuseppe (Beppe) Caviola leading the team since 2014. Petra produces terroir-focused Bordeaux-style blends and single-varietal reds from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah and Petit Verdot, under Suvereto DOCG and Toscana IGT.
