Morisoli Vineyard

United States

Morisoli Vineyard is a historic, family-owned Rutherford estate in Napa Valley, established by Swiss-Italian immigrants in 1902 and now cared for by the fourth and fifth generations. The family farms its vineyard by hand using vintage tractors and traditional methods, including French plowing instead of herbicide sprays, regular discing, and legume cover crops to return nutrients to the soil. Harvest is conducted by hand with the same crew each year, while irrigation is used sparingly during summer heat. Located on the Rutherford Bench, the vineyard’s gravelly alluvial soils are associated with wines of complexity, firm tannins, and abundant fruit. Winemaker Joel Aiken, formerly of Beaulieu Vineyard, works with the family on its limited-production, estate-grown wines.
