Conestabile della Staffa

Italy

Conestabile della Staffa is a historic estate in Umbria, now run by Alessandra Marcucci, a descendant of the founding family, and her husband Danilo Marcucci, who leads production and winemaking. After the estate’s much larger past, the focus today is on a smaller vineyard area, with vines largely planted in the 1970s. Since the mid-2010s, the vineyards have been farmed biodynamically with low-intervention methods and no chemical pesticides. In the cellar, the approach follows natural-wine principles, including spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention. The result is a family-led revival that connects the estate’s history with a distinctly artisanal, sustainable philosophy.
