Producer

Ciro Picariello

Italy

Ciro Picariello is a family-run producer in Campania’s Irpinia area, with vineyards around Summonte, Montefredane, and Pietradefusi in the hills east of Naples. Founded in 1997 by Ciro Picariello and his wife Rita, the estate focuses on indigenous varieties including Fiano, Greco, Falanghina, and Aglianico. The family remains closely involved, with Bruno working in viticulture and cellar roles and Emma in hospitality and administration. Farming is organic with manual harvesting and minimal chemical inputs. In the cellar, Ciro follows a low-intervention approach using indigenous yeasts, low sulfur, and no filtration, fining, or oak, aiming to express the terroir of Irpinia with clarity and restraint.
