Cascina delle Rose

Italy

Cascina Delle Rose is a family-run estate in Barbaresco’s Tre Stelle area, acquired by the Rizzolio family in 1948 and now managed by brothers Riccardo and Davide Sobrino. Its vineyards are certified organic, with Davide leading agricultural work alongside the family. Ground cover is managed mechanically, while copper and sulfur treatments are kept to the minimum necessary. The wines are made with manual harvesting, gentle pressing, indigenous yeasts and low-intervention methods, including low sulfite additions, fermentation in steel and bottling during the waning moon. Wines are generally neither filtered nor clarified. Barbaresco from the Tre Stelle and Rio Sordo crus expresses the elegant, mineral character of the area’s marine-origin marls, with traditional élevage in large oak for the Barbarescos and steel or cement for Langhe Nebbiolo. The historic farmhouse also hosts an agriturismo.
