Black Chalk is a small, family-owned, winemaker-led producer founded by Jacob Leadley in 2015 in Hampshire’s Test Valley. Working across four vineyard sites on shallow chalk soils, the dedicated team makes vintage-only, traditional-method sparkling wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, alongside a small range of still wines. Their style balances richness and purity, with bright fruit and a clean, distinctly English finish. Vineyard and winery operations are certified by Sustainable Wines of Great Britain, reflecting sustainable, minimal-intervention practices. A custom winery opened in 2020, and assistant winemaker Zoë Driver supports the passionate team behind these handcrafted wines.
