Producer

Henriques & Henriques

Portugal

Henriques & Henriques is a historic Madeira producer founded in 1850 and based on the volcanic island’s steep, basalt-soil vineyards. It is notable as the only Madeira house to have consistently owned its vineyards, giving it control from vineyard to cellar, and it remains the sole custodian of Madeira’s solera system. The company was also the first on the island to build a purpose-built winery, later expanding with new facilities in Câmara de Lobos and a vinification centre at Quinta Grande. Led by Master Blender Humberto Jardim, it produces a broad range of Madeira styles, from dry Sercial and Verdelho to sweeter traditional varieties, with a reputation for complexity, balance, freshness, and ageworthiness.
