Ernst Loosen & Telmo Rodríguez

Germany

Ernst Loosen & Telmo Rodríguez is a collaboration rooted in the Mosel, combining Ernst Loosen’s family-run Weingut Dr. Loosen and Villa Wolf with Rodríguez’s experimental approach. In Graach’s steep, southwest-facing Graacher Himmelreich, very old ungrafted Riesling vines grow in deep blue-slate soils and are selectively hand-picked. The wines reflect natural viticulture, with low yields, native yeasts and extended lees aging; the estates are members of the VDP, though no formal sustainability certifications are listed. Their joint work extends across Germany, Spain and Austria, combining Loosen’s Mosel expertise with a terroir-driven philosophy.
