Domaine Dhommé

France

Domaine Dhommé is a four-generation family estate in Chalonnes-sur-Loire, at the confluence of the Loire and Layon rivers in Anjou. Clarisse and Quentin Dhommé oversee organic viticulture, certified since 2014 after conversion began in 2011. The vineyards include Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, alongside Chardonnay, Grolleau, Gamay, Pineau d’Aunis and Pinot Noir, on clay-loam and schist soils with quartz and sandstone. Vineyard work includes hand harvesting, mechanical methods, composting, green manure and eco-grazing with sheep. Wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and made with minimal intervention and sparing sulfur, including appellation-specific Anjou, Savennières and Coteaux du Layon bottlings.
