Cantina Sanpaolo is Claudio Quarta’s Campania winery in the San Paolo di Tufo district of Torrioni, Avellino, set on a volcanic hill among vineyards and woods in the heart of the Greco di Tufo DOCG area. Selected grapes are cultivated in suitable Irpinian sites up to 700 metres, where marked temperature variation enhances aromaticity; soils range from clay and limestone to sand and volcanic ash. The portfolio includes Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino, Falanghina, Aglianico Irpinia and Taurasi, including Riserva. Its contemporary approach is rooted in the heritage of this historic landscape, with separate vinification of individual plots in insulated tanks and a French-oak ageing cellar. Photovoltaic power and thermal insulation support the winery’s sustainability, while the wider Claudio Quarta project focuses on research, native varieties and wines that express the identity of Southern Italy.
