DOMAINE BERSAN

France

Domaine Bersan is a family-run estate in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, in northern Burgundy, with roots in the Bersan family dating back centuries. Run by Jean-Louis and Jean-Christophe Bersan, the domaine farms organically and has been certified organic since 2012 after beginning the transition in 2009, with biodynamic practices gradually being introduced. Vineyard work and cellar practice emphasize hand harvesting, indigenous-yeast fermentations, low sulfur, and wines that are often neither fined nor filtered. The estate works across Saint-Bris, Chablis, and Irancy on limestone and marl soils, and ages wines in historic 11th- and 12th-century vaulted cellars that reflect its strong sense of heritage.
