Bodegas Nabal

Spain

Bodegas Nabal is a family-owned winery in Gumiel de Izán, at the heart of Ribera del Duero, founded by the Navarro Balbás family and led by winemaker and technical director Óscar Navarro. The family’s long winemaking tradition and passion for its land inform an artisanal approach focused on careful vineyard work and authentic expression of place. Its vineyards, including almost century-old vines, are hand-pruned and hand-harvested, with organic certification and low-intervention practices. Sites across Gumiel de Izán, Sotillo de la Ribera, Quintana del Pidio and La Aguilera feature sandy-loam, gravelly and limestone soils. Tempranillo, or Tinta del País, is central, with Garnacha and Albillo also used for rosé. Carefully selected grapes undergo natural, non-invasive fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by oak aging, combining tradition with modern equipment.
