Producer

Neudorf

New Zealand

Founded by Tim and Judy Finn in 1978 in Upper Moutere, Nelson, Neudorf remains a family-owned estate, with daughter Rosie Finn involved in its operation and the founders continuing as advisors. Richard Flatman took ownership in 2010, beginning the conversion to organic viticulture; the vineyards are now BioGro Organic certified. Dry-farmed on ancient Moutere clay-gravel soils, the estate emphasizes site expression, biodiversity and soil health through composting, mulching, permanent swards and native plantings. Chardonnay is a particular focus, alongside Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Albariño. The wines are described as textured, precise and capable of longevity, reflecting a restrained approach that lets the exceptional site lead in the winery.
